Shop by colour

Along with our good friends at White October and Nonsense we have given ourselves 24 hours to conceive, design, build and promote a new web based start-up company. It’s currently 03:16am and the office is mostly quiet apart from the odd murmor from the development team and the tip tap of keys.

The project situation is pretty healthy. We have a name. Dr.Hue. We have a business idea (shopping by colour) and we have a brand. We even have a holding page Drhue.com. The main site is being templated, whilst the templates are being finished off and there’s a whole host of image manipulation trickery going on in development. In the background, accross the room, the marketing boys set about promoting the site and pulling together a campaign.

And of course… you can currently see it all unfold at 24hour-startup.com

Oxford Geek night 10

As taken from the OGN homepage:

“Oxford Geek Nights offer a chance for web developers and designers in the local area to get together, share their skills and talk about new ideas, techniques and technologies.

Each OGN consists of two keynote talks of 15 minutes each. There are also frenetic bursts of socialising, sometimes adverts for other local groups, but always interspersed with two sets of 5-minute-long microslot sessions.”

Hutchhouse will be there, as will the White October gang.  Hope to see you there too!

Yellow Pages Ad campaign site

Yell approached us to design this campaign website for their 2007 advertising campaign The People Behind the Numbers.

The site would fulfil a number of roles:

There was also a strong requirement for a quick turnaround on the site. In total the site (which is fully content managed and has a number of bespoke features) was designed and built within a 3-4 week period.

Red Consultancy

The Red Consultancy approached Hutchhouse with a brief to overhaul their web site and online presence.

Features to be included were: a project library, news section, awards, updates and jobs board. The site needed to reflect the key channels which form Red, each of which have separate content requirements.

The resulting design and finished site ticked all the boxes. It’s fully content managed and nicely organised with the six company channels forming the top level of the site’s structure.

Since its inception, the site has been a real success story, adding a new channel to Red’s marketing strategy and  enhancing an already prestigious image.

A Portrait of Middle Britain

Designed to run in conjunction with the publication of the Acacia Avenue Census The AA required a website to showcase the stories of the lives, jobs, families and opinions held by the residents of Acacia Avenues all over the UK.

Commissioned by The AA the site is content managed, featuring a messageboard and family profiles.

The design was key to the success of the site, really delivering the flavour of the campaign with its interchangeable styles (including flock wallpapers).

The campaign won the 2007 Sabre Award for Best Financial Services Campaign and was highly commended for the PR Week Best Consumer Campaign.

Mums get wise with Bizmums

Yell approached Hutchhouse after the success of the 2007 Business Mums Campaign with a brief to re-design the site in line with new brand guidelines.

This included additional functionality, which added a messageboard and online nomination process for the 2008 awards.

The Victorian Pub gets a new face!

When the team at Raoul’s Bar in Oxford purchased The Victoria, their new premises on Walton Street, Hutchhouse were brought on board to design a website which would reinforce the pub’s new evolving brand.

The results were great and the design really captures the pub’s image and feel. The creative for the website derives from built from the pub’s own physical furniture, which were photographed and in-turn incorporated into the design.

The pub receives regular contact via the website for functions and private parties as well as enquiries about staff positions.
